Yeah, yeah, so I went out to the shed to get the mower and while I was looking under the bench for someone to cut the grass for me I came across a small block of tassie blackwood that I had picked up about 10 years ago.
Back then I was not thinking to much about building guitars so I bought the bit of wood thinking it may be good for knife handles or something. Looking at that small block today, I immediately saw a few book-matched headstock veneers.
So, I set up the saw and sander and sliced a few sets to add to the stash. I cleaned one set up, give it a coat of lac, and took the attached photo. Sorry but the image just does not do this stuff justice, it's like fire, but I am sure you get the idea.
I then went back in the house and explained to my wife that the reason I decided to leaving the grass long and overgrown is as a sort of memorial garden to Steve Erwin
..Now every time she walks by whilst I type this post, she keeps looks at me like I just shat in her shoes..........again 
Playing with wood has always been much more enjoyable than mowing lawns and as we keep hearing all the time, life is to short not to enjoy what your doing, and I really did like Steve
